Suite of six flat-rimmed, partially gilded crystal champagne flutes, each signed Jean-Paul VAN LITH.
Jean-Paul van Lith is a contemporary artist born in 1940, who lives and works in Biot in the south of France, and is represented in some thirty museums in France and abroad. A former student at the École des Arts Appliqués à l'Industrie in Paris, he has worked as a painter, tinsmith, ceramist, glassmaker, writer and designer. From 1979 to 1981, he collaborated with glassmaker Jean-Claude Novaro. In 1982, he was commissioned by the Portieux crystal glassworks in the Vosges. In 1984, with Monica Damian and Matei Negreanu, he created Studio Art at the Portieux crystal glassworks. He is a designer for the Hartzviller crystal glassworks.
